The latest Kmart product hack that's making its rounds online is a $15 6L fridge storage container.
The container was originally marketed on the Kmart website with imagery of capsicums and carrots, and most reviews of the containers describe how they're a great way to keep vegetables fresh and crisp.
However, one Kmart enthusiast has found that the kitchen essential surprisingly makes a great container for bread, as it keeps it fresher for longer.
Sharing the hack in the Kmart Hacks and Decor Facebook group, the savvy shopper revealed that she's doubled the life span on the breakfast staple. It's very simple. All she does is place the loaf inside the container and keeps the ventilation latch closed when in storage.
“Since using the veggie container for my bread it keeps twice as long,” the woman shared.
Other users in the group were keen to try it for themselves.
“Omg, gluten-free bread always has stupid packaging, this would be so much better!” another Kmart fan exclaimed.
Another added “Wow. They are fab for fruit and veg but never thought about bread!”
The clear containers are 15cm (H) x 35.2cm (W) x 16cm (D) and stackable, making them great for organising your fruit, vegetables, herbs and now bread as well.
However, if you plan to buy and try this hack for yourself, just know that they are freezer-safe but not dishwasher-safe.
